I absolutely agree with Terry. Tracy's solved the problem and the new jig
works beautifully!

Hey thanks Terry and Sylvan & Lance! I'm so glad it works for you, and you are happy with your purchase. For anyone else who may be interested, I'm offering this jig for $44 + $5 shipping(48 states) until 9/20. After that the price goes to $59! There is a 2 week backorder now, but if you get your order in now, you will save some money. I hate to raise the price, but the new design is much more complicated with 19 parts. It is much more labor intensive to assemble. Thanks everyone for making this a success!
You can purchase it HERE

Hey Tracy,

would you consider a "some assembly required" version at a reduced cost?

Hey Terry! If the first version would have worked, I would have said yes! But this new version is so complicated to assemble and get it right, that there really is no way to have someone else assemble it. My partner created special jigs that aid in the assembling process. Believe me, you do not want to make a jig like this. Just getting a perfectly scribed centerline is much harder than it seems. If it is just a little off, this jig won't work, and you just waisted money on a large piece of plastic. If you really want one bad enough, I may be able to work out a deal for you. Send me an email at tracy AT luthiersuppliers.com.

And Larry, the people that ordered Version 1 got to keep the first one to use as scrap. The plastic can be used for many other jigs since the centerline is already scribed Unfortunately, you weren't one of the ones who ordered version 1

Thanks to all who have ordered this jig, and glad it is well received!
Tracy

Good work, Tracy!

The best tools are elegant, as in simple, and this one is just that. Should be
especially useful for archtop guitars where regular straightedges are just too
hard to handle.

Thanks Frank! What a great endorsement to have from you. Did you receive your updated jig yet? I'm curious what are your opinions of the jig? Thanks for the very nice support!

Thanks Terry, will do! I just had to pass this on to the Luthier Community here on the OLF to let you know what kind of great community we have here...

Someone here on the OLF(who will remain anonymous per their request) purchased a CenterLine Finder for Terry Stowell. I was so moved by this persons kindness I thought I would share that with you. I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here, but I just wanted you all to know the kindness that is found on this forum. A really big THANK YOU to this person. You truly are a special person, and I'm touched that I could help bring this act to kindness to Terry!

Yes, Terry....the one I bought was from an individual on the OLF who had a bunch of these made up for a "group buy"...I don't think you were around back then! But, your's is so nice, I'd feel like a heel selling mine to someone else! Work me a "Terry deal", will ya? I'll be in touch!

Hey Larry, yes I remember the jig that was offered by Bob Pittman. It was the original jig that looked like the one created by Charles Fox, and modified by Frank Ford. That jig is a fine jig, but only draw back is that it didn't fit wider fretboards, or really thin one's. But if you are only building acoustic guitars, it should be fine. Maybe someone on the OLF will buy you one of my jigs Thanks for your interest Larry!
